Greggs have launched their new vegan steak bake range but Cowbridge won't be receiving stock until the 16th of January.

The vegan steak bake is made up of 96 thin layers of puff pastry but is created without the egg glaze.

The filling is made with pieces of the fungi-based protein Quorn instead of beef, mixed with diced onions and meat-free gravy.

The vegan treat costs £1.55 and has been rolled out to 1,300 stores today.

Other stores, including Cowbridge, will have to wait until January 16th to get their hands on the baked good.

Roger Whiteside, chief executive at Greggs, said: "Our vegan sausage roll launch was a huge success and we've been working tirelessly to expand our vegan friendly offering and provide more delicious savoury food on-the-go options for people looking to reduce their meat intake.

"The launch of our vegan steak bake is another key milestone on our journey to become our customers' favourite for food-on-the-go. We look forward to hearing the feedback."

Keep an eye on stock by clicking the red button below and if you can't wait till the 16th you can find where the bake is available near you.
