Family-run Bar 44 is back in Cowbridge after a two-year hiatus thanks to up a pop-up at Thornbush Hill.

The tapas bar, which was located on the High Dtreet for 20 years but closed as a result of Covid-19, is taking up residency at Thornbush Hill's HQ at 3 Westgate from 26th-29th October.

Owner of Thornbush Hill, Kirsty-Leigh Lewis, says: "That's right local foodie friends, our absolute hands down favourite restaurant group is going to be popping up with all of their best-selling Bar 44 delights.

"From Wednesday, 26 October through to Saturday, 29 October, our dear pals will be selling their famous olives, sherries, wines, olive oils, sauces and more from our Cowbridge HQ.

"The excitement levels in the team are high. This is a collaboration of dreams for us and we cannot wait to have the incredible Bar 44 back in their home town of Cowbridge."

Cowbridge was Bar 44 Group's first restaurant, followed by openings in Penarth, Cardiff and Bristol. At the time of closure in 2021, owners said: "We are devastated to tell you that we will be closing the Cowbridge Bar 44 with immediate effect.

"Cowbridge was our first Bar 44 and this is a hugely emotional decision for us. We cannot thank our customers enough for their loyalty and support over the last 20 years."
