A country pub on the outskirts of Cowbridge is hoping to lift the community spirit with regular events after a difficult two years due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The Barley Mow, located in the heart of Graig Penllyn, is a popular fixture in the village and has a history of connecting people and serving its community.

Staff hope to bring that same energy back to the pub and the village itself.

Karen Edwards, 46, a volunteer at the pub who lives in the village, told Nub News: "It's taken almost a couple of years to get the pub up and running. [The Barley Mow] is a well-known pub in the area with a lot of social history, and it would be great to see some life in the pub again.

"We have Keith David joining us for a night of Welsh music and laughter, which will be the first of quite a few events coming up. Keith has a fabulous local following and we are looking forward to hosting him."

The Barley Mow is a traditional 18th-century pub with many original features, including log fires and low beams.

Guest ales are introduced weekly and seasonal menu changes always offer fresh and local produce. The Barley Mow can also hold private functions, buffets, and wedding receptions, which can all be tailored to your needs. Keith David will be performing at The Barley Mow on March 1 (St David's Day) at 19:00. You can follow The Barley Mow pub on their Facebook page.
