Glyndwr Vineyard commended by The Times

By Ellyn Wright 17th Apr 2021

Glyndwr Vineyard has been named by The Times as one of 20 UK vineyards to visit.

In an article titled 'The new day trip' Glyndwr's 40-year-old vines, landscaped gardens and residents llamas were praised.

The oldest family-run vineyard in Wales, the Llanblethian vineyard is also home to chickens and Ouessant sheep, the world's smallest breed, perfect for being "lawnmowers" around the vines.

"You can take vineyard tours led by members of the family, with a glass of Glyndwr vintage sparkling wine on arrival, served on a terrace with wonderful views over the Bristol channel towards the Somerset coast," reads the article.

"Lunch is served outdoors after the tour, using local and homegrown produce, with Glyndwr wines served alongside — rosé and white vintage sparkling wines, plus still red, white and rosé. The family also produce their own cider from the apple orchards and a distinctive apple brandy."

Details Tours cost £38 per person, with the next available date on 9 May.
