Llandough Castle open its gardens for the National Garden Scheme

Llandough Castle will be opening its gardens for the National Garden Scheme on Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September from 10.30 am until 4.30pm.

The gardens have been restored, re-designed and renovated over the last ten years. They include a potager, formal lawns with herbaceous beds, and topiary, a wildlife pond and a woodland garden.

There will be local crafters, plants and flowers for sale as well as tea, cocktails and cakes.

Rhian Rees of Llandough Castle Gardens says:

"We are very much looking forward to re-opening Llandough Castle Gardens.
"The original gardens were all lost after the war and so they have been re-designed and planted over the last ten years. 
"There is a nature trail checklist for children to discover all the creatures in the garden- watch out for the dragons!
"There are local crafters and there will be plants, spring bulbs and flowers for sale. Helen with be making tea, coffee and cocktails in her vintage caravan where delicious cakes will be for sale and we will be making floral headbands for children too!  
"All the money raised goes to charities including Macmillan, Marie Curie, Carer's Trust, Hospice UK, Carer's Trust, Parkinson's UK, Horiatio's Garden and many more."

The time slots are hourly, but visitors are welcome to stay longer.
