Two local authors will host an event at Cowbridge Library on Tuesday, June 14 to discuss their fantasy novel.

Farewell to the Liar is the third book in a trilogy called the Tales of Fenest, set in a made-up world where the power of storytelling wins political elections.

The book is based on a murder that occurs during an election and a police detective, the book's main character, must solve the murder while the election is taking place.

Dr Katherine Stansfield, 38, writes under the pseudonym D.K. Fields with her partner, David Towsey. She told Cowbridge Nub News: "We love doing events with libraries – we absolutely love it as writers and readers.

"We always support libraries where we can. This will actually be the first time we're going to Cowbridge Library, so we're really thrilled to be doing an event with a new library."

Dr Stansfield and Mr Towsey will be discussing the trilogy of books, how they developed the fantasy world and the process of co-writing. "We'll be talking about the good parts and the bad parts," she said.

"You can pull your imaginations, but we also have a lot of arguments!"

The authors will read short excerpts of the stories and ask the audience to vote as if they were characters in the story.

The event will start at 19:00 and is free to attend, but booking is essential. Call the library on 01446 773941 to secure your place.
