The 41-year-old, Leighton Tibbott, had been missing from his Bristol home since August 19.

Leighton went missing from his home in Bradley Stoke. His car was later found in Monknash, Vale of Glamorgan.

A multi-agency search that took place on land and in coastal areas took place but nothing surfaced from those exercises.

Details have now emerged that he has been found in the Llantwit Major area, close to where his car was found abandoned last week.

A group of volunteers who were searching for him located him.

Nicola Cusworth announced on the Llantwit Major Hub Facebook page: "Just to say our group found him safe and sound. He has spoken to his wife and is now with police."

South Wales Police confirmed that he has been found safe and well.

They also released a statement on Facebook that said: ''Thank you to everyone who has contacted us regarding Leighton, who was previously reported missing.''
