High ambitions in Wales to 'build back better' for women as we recover from the pandemic were broadcast to the world when Wales Assembly of Women presented a parallel panel at the United Nation's annual conference of the Commission on the Status of Women, usually held in New York but beamed virtually across the world this year because of coronavirus.

So, the Audrey Jones Awards for Research by Women, established by Wales Assembly of Women in memory of Audrey Jones, who represented Wales Assembly of Women at numerous UN conferences campaigning for women's rights, usually presented at the group's annual conference, went worldwide.

Individuals and businesses from across the Vale of Glamorgan are coming together to get involved with a new virtual food festival.

The inaugural Food Vale Festival will take place from 22 March – 4 April and will include a series of virtual events designed to bring people closer to food producers and businesses in the Vale, whilst highlighting opportunities to improve the local food system, post-Covid 19.

The Welsh Government will withdraw funding for the controversial road planned to link Sycamore Cross on the A48 with Junction 34 of the M4.

Transport minister Ken Skates said that the proposed road no longer fits with the updated policy, which sets out a twenty-year transport strategy.

THE number of people claiming unemployment related support has increased by 103% since March 2020, a report by the Vale of Glamorgan Council has revealed.

The report says that the rate of unemployment in the Vale of Glamorgan "mirrors" the rise in unemployment across Wales and the UK.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council is highlighting the range of support available to residents who might be facing financial difficulties during the coronavirus pandemic.

A number of payments can be claimed by those under financial pressure, while it is also possible to reduce bills in some cases.
