As of today, all hospital grounds, school grounds, public playgrounds and the outdoor areas of day-care and child-minding settings in Cowbridge and the rest of Wales are required to be smoke-free.
New laws, being introduced across the country today, [1 March] build on the smoking ban introduced in 2007, to protect the public's health, both by aiming to discourage people from starting smoking in the first place and to support those trying to quit.

First Minister Mark Drakeford has announced that an extra £682 million will be included in the Budget to support the response to the pandemic in the coming months.
Speaking at a press conference today Mr Drakeford said that "the worst of the second wave is hopefully behind us" as the seven-day rate has fallen to 64 cases per 100,000 people and in every part of Wales, the rate is below 100 cases per 100,000 people.

The Vale of Glamorgan Mayor's Foundation Grant Fund is inviting applications from Community Groups, the Voluntary Sector and not for profit organisations.
Groups can apply for grants between £100 and £250 to help support the work of voluntary and charitable organisations within the Vale of Glamorgan.

The arrival of spring means that garden waste collections will recommence next Monday 1 March, the Vale of Glamorgan Council has confirmed.
Garden waste will be collected every other week, alternate week to your black bag collection.
