Well-established estate agents Brinsons & Birt offer professional expertise throughout the residential, commercial and rural property industry.

As part of their commitment to the community, they are now proud sponsors of the Nub News property section for Cowbridge.

This exciting partnership will bring you desirable properties in and around the town, plus news and features relating to the local property market and how it might affect residents.

With strong connections to Cowbridge, Brinsons & Birt supports many local causes.

Richard Harris is President of the Maendy Young Farmers Club, and in his spare time writes and directs the annual pantomime, which has seen great success over the years.

Also, Ann Birt, wife of Residential Consultant David Birt, organises the annual Cowbridge 10k in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Being so embedded in the Cowbridge Community sets the Brinsons & Birt team apart, many of whom were educated at the comprehensive school.

"Our heritage is within the farming community. I come from a local farm in the Vale of Glamorgan, as does the Managing Director," said David.

"So, we've grown up here and we know the area. We can drive to St Hilary or Llanblethian and tell you about what's there, from the pub, to the schools and shops, which is really useful for clients.

"The skills of estate agency, rural agricultural land agency and commercial agency can all be taught; what is harder to teach is the local knowledge," he said.

Brinsons has been based in Cowbridge since 2009, when it acquired Fairfax & Co Chartered Surveyors.

Then four years ago, Brinsons Fairfax acquired estate agents and chartered surveyors "David Birt & Co", a niche residential sales agency specialising in exclusive, high value properties in the Vale of Glamorgan to expand its residential sales agency in Cowbridge.

The new name of "Brinsons & Birt" was formed.

The team is headed by directors Richard Harris, and David Lakin, who is developing the residential sales and lettings division of the Cowbridge office.

"We offer a personalized high-quality service model," David told Nub News.

"We're not a corporate machine that is 30 or 40 offices wide, we're a smaller, tight-knit group, and all of our staff work and live locally.

"We try and provide a tailor-made approach."

The Brinsons & Birt team is committed to bespoke and proactive service for its clients.

"Selling your house is stressful at the best of times, but we try to take that stress away to make it a bit easier for people to get moved, and simultaneously act in your best interests," said David.

"The biggest thing I find in this job is that people want confidence and reassurance. Buying or selling a house is a process where it's easy to lose rationality and become slightly stressed and irrational about the whole thing.

"My take on it is always keep a level head. Sometimes we're playing counsellor, sometimes we're playing mediator, sometimes we're playing all sorts of different roles to just make sure that we get the client or purchaser from A to B," he said.

David joined the team in 2013, and since then was appointed as Residential Sales & Lettings Manager in 2016, before his promotion to Director.

He has overseen the development of the Brinsons & Birt office in that time.

"Fortunately, it's gone from strength to strength," said David.

"We'll keep our feet and our ground, there's still plenty of work to go on. The journey is just at the start, but we're stepping in the right direction."

Nub News CEO Karl Hancock said: "It's great to see local businesses sponsor local news.

"Without sponsors like Brinsons & Birt we wouldn't be able to provide the local news that Cowbridge deserves."

Vale of Glamorgan MP Alun Cairns showed his support of the partnership.

"It's so good to see local businesses backing Nub News," he said.

"This is a fantastic innovation bringing the community together to inform of local issues that affect the community, businesses and charitable groups.

"The backing of businesses shows that Nub News is here to play a part."
