A campaign to save the Old Cricket Ground in Cowbridge has moved to the next stage after the announcement of a public Inquiry at Cowbridge Town Hall later this month.

Gareth Brown, 49, a member of the Friends of the Old School Cricket Field club in Cowbridge, does not want the ground to be developed on and has been spreading the word continuously for quite some time.

"We as a group have been since around 2015 trying to get the old cricket field in Cowbridge accepted as a Town green," said Gareth.

"This, we believe, will keep this area from future development, something that there has been too much of recently. We would like our green spaces to remain."

According to a statement posted in the 'What's Up With Vale Of Glamorgan Council' Facebook group, the inspector will attend Cowbridge Town Hall on Tuesday, February 15 2022 at 2 pm until 6pm, on Wednesday, February 16 2022 at 9:30 am until 5pm and potentially on February 17 if required.

A spokesperson for Vale of Glamorgan Council told Nub News: "A small section of the land is in the Council's ownership but there are no plans to dispose of it."
