Cowbridge: Covid-19 cases fall by more than 40% in the Vale of Glamorgan

Covid-19 cases have fallen by almost 41 per cent in the Vale of Glamorgan compared to the previous seven days, reveals official data published today (Wednesday, January 12).

Some 51 people tested positive for coronavirus yesterday, bringing the total number of people infected in the Vale for the seven days to January 11 to 1778 – down 40.7% on the previous seven days.

These latest figures show the rates of coronavirus in the Vale of Glamorgan remain below the rates in both Wales and the UK as a whole.

Vaccinations in Wales

Vaccination rates localised to the Vale of Glamorgan is unavailable, but there is information on the uptake of doses at a national level.

2,497,658 people had been given a first dose by the end of 10 January 2022.

2,328,295 people had been given a second dose by the end of 10 January 2022.

1,792,464 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of 10 January 2022.
