Cowbridge Farmers' Market is expanding and hosting a new regular market in Dinas Powys.

As the Vale Farmers' Market, Cowbridge Farmers' Market is made up of a thriving group of producers holding weekly markets at Cowbridge, who pride themselves on their quality local produce.

From Friday 15 October, they will host a weekly market in Dinas Powys, in the Star Inn car park adding to the regular Saturday event in Cowbridge.

The market will be open from 9.30am-1pm.

Janine Gray, a regular at Cowbridge Farmers' Market with her Daisy Graze jams, jellies and fudge, has been organising the new Dinas Powys event.

"It's very exciting" she told Nub News.

"We were sort of approached by one of the local councillors to start up in Dinas Powys.

"It's all about encouraging people to shop local!"

The market hosts around 30 local traders, with a variety of products from fresh vegetables, meat, bread, baked goods, sweet treats and alcohol.

Cowbridge Farmers' Market was even featured on BBC One show 'The Farmers' Country Showdown' .

Secretary and long-time trader at the market Myfanwy Edwards said she was looking forward to the Dinas Powys Market opening, hoping it would draw in many visitors.

"One of our producers recently held a market in the Kenfig nature reserve on Sunday in the terrible weather and it was an absolute storm of a market. Everyone sold out!" she said.
