Training sessions for girls under 12s softball cricket will start this Saturday at Cowbridge Leisure Centre.

The team will come together for the first time for weekly training sessions and the club is keen for more girls to join.

Sara Russell, 54, head coach of the under 12s girls' team, told Nub News: "We welcome anyone who would like to come and join us from the ages of seven to 12 years old. At the moment, we have around 14 girls that have signed up and attending the first training session this Saturday."

Cowbridge Cricket Club was established in 1840 and runs both men's and women's teams, as well as junior teams with players from six to 16 years old.

It costs £30.00 for eight hours of training. Sessions start on March 12 at Cowbridge Leisure Centre from 09:00 – 11:00 and run until April 2.

If you are not able to make any sessions, you can contact Sara directly to arrange a pro-rata payment.
