Members of the Cowbridge Male Voice Choir will perform a concert at Llandaff Cathedral on April 9, the first performance since a member died from COVID.
An annual concert hosted by the choir in October 2021 at Cowbridge Leisure Centre led to a significant COVID outbreak and one chorister tragically passing away.
Jon Wilks, 57, vice-chair of the choir, told Nub News: "Tragically, we, unfortunately, lost a chorister as a result," said Jon. "We've had a dreadful time recovering from that, but we are getting back together at the very prestigious Llandaff Cathedral for our first major performance."
The concert will take place on April 9 and will feature Rhianna Hogg, a guest soloist and Scott Williams, an organist. There will also be a mix of traditional Welsh pieces including Anfonaf Angel and classics such as We Rise Again.
Following the events of the last October 2021 concert, the choir is asking people to follow Covid guidelines at the concert, as well as take a lateral flow test before arriving.
The concert will start at 19:00 and finish at 21:00.
Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Velindre Cancer Centre
