Bridgend and Cowbridge performing arts students learn skills for life on New Theatre stage in Cardiff

July 5, 2024: Students from Stagecoach Performing Arts in Bridgend and Cowbridge gave a spectacular performance to music from the Moulin Rouge musical and Guys and Dolls on stage at the New Theatre Cardiff on Sunday. 

The event was a splendid celebration of the students' dedication and skill, made even more memorable by the iconic venue. 

The students performed a rendition of 'Backstage Romance' from the iconic Moulin Rouge musical as well as 'Luck be A Lady Overture', 'Fugue for Tinhorns', 'I've never been in Love', 'Crapshooter's Ballet', 'Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat' and 'Happy Ending' from Guys and Dolls. 

Events like these give students a chance to shine on stage as well as the opportunity to hone their skills and confidence. 

Stagecoach is more than just a performing arts school, it is a transformative experience for students who learn skills for life, from how to work as part of a team, to presenting, and building self-confidence.

Jaye Lawrence, Principal of Stagecoach Performing Arts in Bridgend and Cowbridge, said: "The dedication and talent displayed on stage was simply awe-inspiring. Each student brought their unique flair to the performance, making it a memorable event for all of us. Knowing the work that went into the performance, I am super proud of them and the strides they have all made in their confidence to bring their talent to the big stage."
