Club calls time on car boot sale

As predicted last month on Cowbridge Nub News, a Cowbridge institution is to come to an end.

The Rotary Club of Cowbridge has made the decision, following diminished numbers, to bring its car boot sales to an end.

Cowbridge Rotary have been running the sales for almost 25 years and previously have welcomed up to 60 boots on the second Sunday of the month.

Income from the sales has allowed the club to make significant funds available to many different causes such as TyHafan, Amelia Trust Farm, Longmeadow Court, local schools etc.

A statement from the club says: "We would like to thank those who have regularly attended as sellers or buyers over the last 25 years, however the return on time invested make the event uneconomical for those who are organising.

"We believe that the boot sale held on Saturday and Sunday is the main reason as its footfall is far greater and totally understood by the club.

"We will review in the new year as the last thing we want to do is reduce the service we give to the community. "
