Council outlines plan for next 12 months
Vale of Glamorgan Council has published its Annual Delivery Plan (ADP), which sets out the areas of focus for the organisation for the next 12 months.
A statement issued by the authority says: "This year's ADP is shaped around our four Well-being Objectives which are:
- Objective One: To work with and for our communities
- Objective Two: To support learning, employment, and sustainable economic growth
- Objective Three: To support people at home and in their community
- Objective Four: To respect, enhance and enjoy our environment
"These objectives are the areas of priority identified in the Corporate Plan 2020-25. This is the fifth and final year of delivering actions to meet these objectives.
"In addition to delivering this ADP, a new Corporate Plan for 2025-2030 will be developed over the next twelve months to set out the areas of priority for the Council over the next five years.
"The ADP also details three critical challenges that will shape much of the Council's activities in the year ahead as the Council continues to strive to make the Vale a great place to live, work and visit.
"The three critical challenges are:
- Organisational Resilience (our people, finances, assets, and public engagement)
- Cost of Living Crisis
- Climate and Nature Emergencies."
Cllr Lis Burnett, Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, said: "We have faced many challenges in recent years but through the hard work and dedication of our colleagues and partners we have met these challenges head on.
"This Plan reflects the core principles that underpin our organisations that allow us to deliver for the residents of the Vale of Glamorgan. Our organisational values of ambitious, proud, together, and open remain true and we will continue to embody these values as we deliver the commitments in this plan."
Progress against the objectives set out in the plan will be reported to the Council's committees on a quarterly basis to provide elected members with an oversight and the opportunity to scrutinise this work.
Members of the public can also attend committee meetings and put questions to elected members as well as participating in engagement and consultation throughout the year, which helps shape the Council's work.
