Cowbridge Art Society meetings will resume this autumn, after 18 months without them due to the pandemic.

From 1 November, the group will be meeting on Mondays, 7-9pm, in the Duke of Wellington, rather than the Old Hall as some Covid restrictions remain in place there.

There will be five meetings this term, rather than the usual ten.

"It has been a long time coming and we look forward to meeting members and enjoying some fabulous demonstrations once again," said a spokesperson for Cowbridge Art Society.

"The shortened Autumn Programme is varied and interesting with CAS welcoming back some familiar demonstrators as well as introducing artists new to the society.

"Hopefully there will be something here to suit all members."

The programme includes sessions with watercolourist Peter Cronin, Oil painting with Matthew Williams, mixed media wild flowers with Penelope Rose Cowley, pencil portraits with Glen Ibbitson and Howard Jones demonstrating acrylics.

Both members and non-members are welcome; non-members will be charged a £5 entrance fee.

Hand sanitiser will be available at the venue entrance, chairs will be distanced as required and mask-wearing is preferred.

The popular CAS Winter Exhibition will be returning to the Old Hall this year, running from Saturday 6 November to Friday 17 December.

"The quality of work on display at this event is always of a high standard so well worth a visit if you are in Cowbridge between these dates. More details of the exhibition will be given nearer the time," said the group.

"After such a long break and unsettled times, it will certainly be good to have CAS up and running again.

"If you are a returning member, we will be pleased to see you in November. If you are not a member, you too will be made very welcome; perhaps you would even like to join us."
