The Vale of Glamorgan Council's 21st Century Schools team has triumphed in the Social Value category at this year's Go Awards National.
Having clinched the regional prize for Best Procurement Delivery in May, the team also came out on top at the UK finals held at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham.
Open to public, private and third sector organisations, the awards aim to recognise excellence in public procurement.
They were successful for the collaborative way in which community benefits have been delivered as part of the 21st Century Schools programme.
That programme involves the comprehensive upgrading of educational infrastructure across the County delivered in partnership with Welsh Government.
School buildings have been constructed to provide wider social, economic and environmental benefits across the County.
Cllr Lis Burnett, Vale of Glamorgan Council Cabinet member for Education and Regeneration, said: "This is a richly deserved award for a team that have gone far above and beyond in delivering our 21st Century Schools programme, often trebling even their own ambitious targets.
"Not only are children across the Vale enjoying modern, first-class educational provision, but the innovative way in which these facilities have been delivered means surrounding communities have also benefited. This has come through employment opportunities, community and environmental activities and contracts for local businesses."
More information about the community benefits being delivered by the Council's 21st Century Schools team can be found on the website.
