Cowbridge Country Market was held last Friday [24 September] for the first time since April 2020.

The market will run every other Friday, from 9.30-11.30am, in the Lesser Hall, at Cowbridge Town Hall, to align with the farmers' market on Saturdays in the Arthur John car park.

The co-operative of local producers provides high quality, value for money baked goods, preserves, plants, flowers, fresh produce, eggs, breads and craft items.

The group was unable to hold regular markets due to the pandemic and restrictions at the venue.

"We've been waiting a long time," said Carol James, who brings baked goods and acts as the market's treasurer.

"The restrictions were just too tight until now.

"But then we had the news just a week and a half ago that we could go ahead, so we put it all together!"

Though the traders doubted there would be long queues of customers, the likes of which were seen before the pandemic, a steady stream of people made their way through the one-way system.

Each customer had a paper form, where their purchases from each trader were filled out, ready to pay altogether at the end.
