A group of artists will come together to exhibit a range of Welsh coastal pieces at a new exhibition starting on Saturday (April 2) at Old Hall Gallery.

The 'Sea of Change' exhibition will run until April 28 and showcase work by local artists who are passionate about the Welsh coast and the natural environment around them.

Lesley Dearn, Anna Polya, Christine Lamb, Tony Fraser, Margaret Krzemeniewski, Christine Robinson, Mary Traynor, Glyn Evans, and Sandra Whittle are the artists participating in the exhibition and will put forward works to be displayed and purchased by gallery visitors.

Christine Lamb, one of the artists and coordinator of the exhibition, told Nub News: "All the artists draw inspiration from the changes emerging in the bold rhythm of the tidal range on the Bristol Channel.

"Each offers a unique perspective. Some recall the shifting cloudscapes, others the constancy of the ocean. Bringing each of the artists together shows the dynamic alliance between these elements."

She continued: "Some of the artists I have painted with during workshops on zoom. Others I have come to know, admire, and draw inspiration from. We all work in various mediums and styles including abstract forms and realistic representations."

Lesley Dearn, a full-time artist and art tutor who lives in Porthcawl, will be submitting nine or ten pieces to the exhibition. "Because I teach and I know various people, I heard about the exhibition and I think Christine was asking people who would be interested as their work is very much based on the Welsh coast," she said.

"I thought it was just a great opportunity to exhibit my work locally."

The exhibition is free to attend. Old Hall Gallery opens from Wednesday to Saturday, 10:00 – 16:00.
