Cowbridge Rotary Club raised more than £400 at its annual St David's Day concert which was held on March 1 at Ramoth Baptist Chapel.
The concert was the first indoor event organised by the club since February 2019, and the audience was entertained by Welsh opera singer, Rhydian Jenkins.
Rhydian, who is studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, performed two sessions of nine pieces that included classics, opera, and musical showpieces, singing in four languages.
During the interval, Rotarians Huw Davies and Gerwyn Watkins, members of Cowbridge Rotary Club, performed two pieces of Traditional Welsh Verse to set the scene for the second half of Rhydian's performance.
A traditional raffle was also held with varying prizes on offer that included a traditional Welsh afternoon tea hamper.
Malcolm Hallewell, president of Cowbridge Rotary Club, said: "After so many months of being restricted in arranging events to support its charitable work for those in need, it felt as though a major milestone had been achieved this evening by us getting together.
He continued: "The performance of Rhydian, who comes from Maesteg and that of his accompanist Kim Lloyd Jones, gave such an array of musical excellence and that the club will be following Rhydian and look forward to the next time we hear his wonderful voice."
The evening started with a moment of silence in respect of the Ukrainian people and closed with the singing of the Welsh National Anthem "Hen WladFy Nhadau" led by Rhydian.
