Cowbridge Music Festival begins today, commencing two weeks of musical excellence from across the globe in our picturesque market town.

The event will take place from today [Friday 1] until Saturday 16 October this year.

In 2020, the festival had to be postponed due to the pandemic, so the patrons and organisers are more excited than ever for this year's event.

Tune in to BBC Radio Wales on Sunday at 5:40pm to listen to our brilliant Musical Director Rosalind Ventris chatting to Roy Noble on his show about all things Cowbridge Music Festival.

One of Europe's leading period ensembles, the Feinstein Ensemble, makes its Cowbridge debut on the festival's opening day.

Resident ensemble at St Martin in the Fields, London, this world class ensemble performs around 30 concerts each year and we are thrilled to be welcoming them to Cowbridge for their only performance in Wales this year.

They will begin the festival with thrilling baroque concerti for violin, cello, harpsichord and recorder.

The programme includes a wide range of performances; from brilliant Baroque ensembles to Romantic masterpieces, and jazz trios, in well-known Cowbridge venues such as Holy Cross Church, the Duke of Wellington and Cowbridge Comprehensive Theatre.
