Cowbridge Music Festival is returning – and the line-up looks better than ever.

Held annually in October, the event features a characteristic mix of classical, folk, jazz and more.

This year's edition will place the local Cowbridge community at the heart of the Festival's programme, with the Fringe events to be announced shortly.

To ensure that audiences feel safe and comfortable, all Festival concerts will be run with social distancing in place. To enable this, all concerts will be about an hour long, with no interval, and each performance will be given twice, with both concerts sharing an identical programme.

Tickets are selling fast, and some concerts have already sold out, so make sure to book yours soon!

Here's a taster of what you can expect:

The Feinstein Ensemble are one of Europe's leading period ensembles, and they are making their Cowbridge debut at Holycross Church.

Resident ensemble at St Martin in the Fields, London, they open the festival with thrilling baroque concerti for violin, cello, harpsichord and recorder.

At the Duke of Wellington Pub, you will be able to enjoy Hot Club of Jupiter, the jazz quintet lead by reeds player Jon Shenoy (of King Candy and the Sugar Push). Inspired by a shared love of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, their combination of well-loved standards and originals promises to be a night to remember.

Drawing deep on their own diverse traditions and transforming them with remarkable synergy, virtuosi Welsh harpist Catrin Finch and Senegalese kora player Seckou Keita will be performing works from their two critically acclaimed albums.

Winner of the National Eisteddfod Instrumental Blue Riband and the prestigious Gold Medal from the Royal Northern College of Music, Wrexham-born pianist Luke Jones comes to Cowbridge as the 2021 CMF Young Artist with a programme to include a CMF commissioned work by Vale of Glamorgan composer Sarah Lianne Lewis and Liszt's tumultuous Sonata in B minor.

Cowbridge Music Festival teams up with Children's Musical Adventures once again to present an interactive musical extravaganza. This time children aged three to twelve years old,and their families will be taken on a journey into outer space, discovering music from Holst's famous work The Planets, as well as other extra-terrestrial musical worlds.

Back by popular demand, jazz brunches at the Bear Hotel return again this year. Perfect for a weekend morning, these offer a chance to enjoy a delicious meal with some toe-tapping music played by talented jazz musicians. Reservations required, call The Bear Hotel on 01446 774814.

In partnership with Children's Musical Adventures, there will be events in five primary and two secondary schools. Restrictions permitting, Festival musicians will visit several care homes.
