Cowbridge retailers are hoping that the relaxing of hospitality restrictions will help boost their businesses too in the coming weeks.
From Monday, Coronavirus regulations eased to allow indoor dining at pubs, restaurants and cafés across Wales.
Local shops say this development, alongside the improved weather, has already brought customers back to the high street.
'The pandemic has highlighted how all the businesses are connected'
"Generally, you meet a friend and get a coffee before or after you have a mooch," said Sophie Fawcus-Robinson, owner of Folk.
"I think the pandemic has highlighted how all the businesses are connected.
"If you take hospitality away, the shops are affected, and that's also true for the other way round.
"We're thrilled to be open alongside the lovely restaurants and cafés here."
Sue Jones, Tallia boutique owner, said she had noticed more people in town this week.
"It was really good when we first opened but then there was a change in the weather.
"Normally they would have just gone and had a cup of coffee and let the rain pass but people were going home instead, so there was a bit of a dip.
"This week has picked up again now so hopefully it's just onwards and upwards. The weather's getting nicer and then that definitely brings more people out.
"It used to be you walk up one side of the high street and shop, have lunch, do the other side and have a coffee.
"With indoors open again, it just benefits everyone."
At Cancer Research charity shop, manager Amanda hoped the number of shoppers keeps increasing.
"From Sunday it's been busier in town. With the weather being so good, I'm hoping this weekend could be our biggest yet," she said.
"You come to Cowbridge to shop and make a day of it. With everything reopening it should all start to pick up."
