A group of craftspeople from across the Vale will come together to showcase their work at the Old Hall in Cowbridge on Easter weekend.

Vale Makers will be running a market from April 16-18, which includes crafts from ceramicists and textile workers to woodworkers and people who create natural skincare products.

Frances Lloyd, chair of the Vale Makers committee, told Nub News: "We're a group of crafts people based in the Vale and the whole point of us getting together is to organise events and showcase our work," said Frances.

"Because working in a small rural community, it's difficult sometimes to get your work known. So, the market is a great way for us to showcase our work and let people know that we're out there."

The group started just before the COVID-19 pandemic which put a stop to any initial plans they had to sell their work. Activity recently resumed at the end of last year. "It [COVID-19] completely interrupted all our planned activities, but we recently came back in October last year with one Vale Makers market a month in October, November, and December," said Frances.

"We weren't sure of the response we would get because of people wanting to stay indoors, but we ended being pleasantly surprised by the number of people who showed up at the markets."

People who attend the Vale Makers Market on Easter weekend can also enjoy a pop-up café which will be selling homemade treats, tea and coffee.

The market is on the same weekend as the Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival.

On all three days, the market will run from 10:00 – 16:00. For more information, you can contact the group on [email protected]
