The annual Armistice Day wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Vale of Glamorgan Council's Civic Office forecourt in Barry and streamed live on Facebook.
A short service, followed by a two-minute silence, was attended by Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan Jayne Norman, Managing Director Rob Thomas, Councillors and representatives of the Armed Forces and Royal British Legion.
The ceremony began at 10:45 on Thursday and was open to members of the public. Welsh Government social distancing guidelines were adhered to throughout.
The start and end of the silence was marked by the playing of the Last Post and Reveille, with the service concluding with the British and Welsh national anthems.
Reflecting on the service, Cllr Norman said: "On Thursday we met at the Civic Offices in Barry to show our support for the men and women who have served this country in conflicts throughout the world.
"We owe those individuals a huge debt of gratitude. Many have made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today.
"That selflessness should never be forgotten so as a community it's only right that we come together to honour them in this way."
The stream of the event is still available on the Vale of Glamorgan Council's Facebook page.
