A memorial match was played at Cowbridge cricket ground on Friday [3 September] in honour of former captain and coach Jonathan Smart.
New nets were also opened in his name, former Glamorgan and Gloucestershire cricketer Alan Wilkins gave a speech, and former Wales Rugby Union full-back Gethin Rhys Williams MC'd the luncheon.
Jon's twin brother Matthew Smart said he was "truly humbled" by the success of the day.
An integral part of Cowbridge Cricket club as both a player and behind the scenes, Jon died unexpectedly in June 2020, age 45.
Many high street shops generously donated raffle prizes, and many former club members travelled to Cowbridge to honour Jon's memory.
The club also recently lost its president, Jeff Bird and former president Richard Smart.
"Thank you, Cowbridge Cricket Club, for having me," Alan Wilkins Tweeted after the match.
"What a magnificent day you put on for Jonathan Smart and with Jeff Bird also very much in our thoughts. The welcome in the club is as warm as it has always been!"
