Gareth Bale's planning application to extend his Ystradowen mansion has been approved.

The plans include adding a new floor to his £4 million property with his own dressing room and extra high ceilings.

Welsh St. Donats Community Council were consulted, and raised no objection. Peterston-super-Ely Ward members were consulted and no comments were received.

Mr Bale lives at the countryside property with his partner Emma Rhys-Jones. The couple also wants to add a sixth bedroom, en-suite bathroom, and study.

The plans submitted to the Vale of Glamorgan Council for approval also show an extension to an existing balcony and a new entrance porch.

A golf-lover, Mr Bale's property already features its own three-hole custom course in the back garden.

The Tottenham Hotspur winger had replicas of three famous golf holes installed: the 17th hole at Sawgrass , the 'postage stamp' 8th at Royal Troon and the 12th at the Augusta National .

Southwest Greens , a company that specialises in the design and installation of state-of-the-art synthetic turf and lawns, created the feature at the property in 2015.
