Ground Bakery has opened the doors of its third site in Cowbridge.

The "Artisanal Boulangerie and Speciality Coffee House" has opened its latest site on the High Street, following the success of its Pontcanna and Penarth premises.

Ground was co-founded by Pembrokeshire born chef and Masterchef contestant Thomas Simmons, alongside Welsh rugby player George North.

Phase one of the Cowbridge site includes a counter filled with Ground's signature breads and pastry treats. When fully developed next year, Cowbridge is going to be the biggest site to date with an outdoor courtyard as well as a large indoor seating area. As well as being a bakery and coffee house, Ground in Cowbridge will also serve breakfasts, brunches and light lunches.

A spokesperson says:

"We are so excited about the next chapter for Ground and can't wait to get to know our new Cowbridge community!
"Customers will be able to grab sandwiches and toasties to go, warm up with coffees, hot chocolates or chai and browse our retail section which will be bursting with festive treats ready for all the foodies and coffee lovers in your life.
"There's plenty of treats at our sites to pick up if you're Christmas shopping this week!
"We've got beautifully wrapped gifts sets filled with coffee or chocolate treats, bottles of our favourite chai syrup as well as some cool new coffee drippers for anyone levelling up their home brew game!
"Thank you to everyone for being so friendly and patient as we find our feet in this new location, it was amazing to meet so many of you!"
