Home Instead Cowbridge, Pontyclun and Pontypridd has received a positive review by its regulator, The Care Inspectorate Wales.

This was its first inspection post registration under the Regulation and Social Care Wales Act 2016.

The report concluded that their service provides person-centred care and support of a high standard.

"People using the service, and their relatives, say they are very happy with the support provided," it read.

"Staff are caring, respectful and skilled. They know the needs and preferences of people they care for well. Staff have comprehensive training, good support from management, and appear happy working at the service.

"Management is approachable, responsive and good at communicating with staff, people who use the service and their relatives."

Reviewing the wellbeing of clients, the report concluded that "the service supports the rights and choices of people, so they can stay as independent as possible, do things that matter to them, and feel valued in society.

"People and their relatives also speak well of the service's staff and management, saying 'everybody is really helpful' and 'they are excellent'. Care workers are described as 'kind, patient and respectful', as well as considerate about the situation, wishes and dignity of the person they support."

The service also provides a high standard of care and development support to people.

"We spoke with a number of people and relatives, and their overall opinion of the service is positive," the review concludes.

"People say they feel comfortable and safe with the staff who provide their support. They, and their relatives, are complimentary about the staff and management of the service, saying they 'are very helpful', 'they really listen to me' and 'go the extra mile'."

Home Instead's leadership and management was also praised: "New staff go through a comprehensive induction programme. All staff have ongoing mandatory, and specialised, training.

"Additional online training is in place since the Covid19 outbreak with further training and refresher courses scheduled."

There were no improvements required and no areas needed immediate action.

Home Instead were pleased with the report and its findings.

"We are pleased to share our glowing report, for our current and any potential clients to read through at their leisure," the company said.

"Home Instead Cowbridge, Pontyclun and Pontypridd prides ourselves on being a person centred, client and CAREGiver focused organisation, giving the highest standard of care, and we feel this is reflected in our CIW report."
