Huw hands on the president's baton at Cowbridge Rotary meeting and is honoured with Fellowship award

Cowbridge Rotary Club held its annual change over dinner last night (Monday, 26 June) where outgoing President Huw Davies thanked members for their efforts over the last 12 months.

He also gave special mention to his wife Felicity for all the added work she had done in helping him carry out the role, which was acknowledged by the 60 attendees. 

His review included listing the numerous donations that had been made from the £12000 that events the had run.

Donations to, The Welsh Air Ambulance, Shelterbox, Aquabox, Prostate Wales, Cancer Research Wales, Support to Y Bont Faen Rotakids Club, Support for Cowbridge Comprehensive Schools Interact Clubs, sponsorship of student achievement awards, The Rotary Foundation and support of Cowbridge Dementia Friends group to name a few.

Huw then presented the President's regalia to incoming President Past District Governor (D1210) Carol Hallewell who proceeded to outline her thoughts on the year ahead and welcoming the club officers who would work with her. President-elect is Pierro Fulgoni, treasurer Paul Tromans and secretary Malcolm Hallewell. 

Carol then had the privilege to be able to present a Paul Harris Fellowship to outgoing President Huw, which was awarded to him for his work in assisting members and friends of the club during periods of ill health and times when they needed support.

The club, now entering its 64th year of operation really does wish to encourage more growth, by having additional members, who would like to serve their communities, so if interested contact the club. It's Facebook page can be accessed via this link.
