As the pandemic lockdowns are eased there has never been a greater need for services to support young people's return to normal life.
The voluntary youth clubs at Wick and Colwinston are two of the few remaining open access youth clubs serving young people in the Rural Vale of Glamorgan.
As with most organisations both clubs have had their activities seriously restricted by the pandemic, particularly the lockdowns when they were forced to close.
Wick Youth Club, with its ability to operate outdoors from gazebos was able to continue services for part of the time, but these services were considerably restricted.
As lockdown restrictions are easing both clubs are now re-opening fully to young people across the Western Vale.
Wick Youth Club runs every Wednesday from 4pm to 7.00pm at Wick Sports Pavilion.
Colwinston Youth Club runs every Friday evening from 6.00pm to 9.00pm at Colwinston Village Hall.
This week both clubs will be offering additional outdoor games, activities and a BBQ for half term week and we're planning a summer of fun activities too. New and old members welcome to join us.
This week is volunteer's week and neither club could operate without its regular, committed volunteers. Could you give a few hours a week to support young people in the Rural Vale?
General supervision at the club or on trips, running small tuck shop, organising games or craft activities. Training and free DBS checks available. Call 07710209437 or pop into one of the clubs for details.
