A private hearing healthcare service is set to open its doors in Cowbridge after finding success elsewhere in South Wales.

Cardiff Hearing, which is run by award winning Audiologist Sonja Jones, will be opening a new outreach service within Western Vale Family Practice in July.

The company already has existing practices in Cardiff and Taffs Well and due to patient demand, Sonja has decided to open a new clinic in Cowbridge.

Sonja, who has worked as an Audiologist in both the NHS and private sector, said: "Word is spreading quickly about this new clinic, and we have already taken a number of bookings just in these first few days. We have lots of people travel to our Cardiff clinic from all around the Vale of Glamorgan, so Cowbridge seemed like a sensible place to help grow our business."

Speaking about the services offered, Sonja said: "We offer specialist audiological care to our patients. My team and I specialise in hearing assessments, fitting bespoke and invisible hearing aids, microsuction ear wax removal, auditory processing disorders and helping patients with tinnitus.

"Aside from our audiologists, we have a wider multidisciplinary team to help our patients, from private GPs, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychotherapists and beyond, ensuring you are looked after to the best of our ability."

In the UK there are 12 million adults with hearing loss greater than 25dB. This is equivalent to one in five adults. By 2035, the Royal National Institute for the Deaf (RNID)s estimates that there will be around 14.2 million adults with hearing loss greater than 25dB across the UK.

Cardiff Hearing's new service at Western Vale Medical Practice, commences on Tuesday 4th July 2023.
