Two memorial benches have been fitted at Southgate Park in Cowbridge, replacing older ones that were moved to another area.

The benches were installed shortly after a member of the public posted on social media that the two original benches had gone.

Cathy Kennedy, town clerk at Cowbridge (Ancient Borough) with Llanblethian Town Council, told Nub News: "The park benches in Southgate Park have now been replaced by two recycled plastic eco-friendly memorial benches.

"The new benches were purchased by local families and will be cared for and maintained by the Town Council.

"The original benches have been moved to Twt Park replacing two old, corroded benches. There is another memorial bench due to be fitted in Llanblethian Park and several other benches located around the town."

There are spaces available for more memorial benches in the Limes Cemetery and Llanblethian Park.
