Last year's Poppy Appeal in Cowbridge Town Centre
Last year's Poppy Appeal in Cowbridge Town Centre

Last year's Poppy Appeal was a very subdued affair due to Covid, but to their credit the people of Cowbridge and the surrounding villages were, once again, very generous and donated over £9,500 to the appeal.

This year we hope you will help us get back with a bang and help celebrate our 100th anniversary.

The large poppies will be mounted on the lamp posts again, traders will be asked to "Paint the Town Red," and introduce a splash of colour in their shop windows, and our collectors will be back on the streets and in Waitrose.

We hope you can help take us away from the grey days of the Covid, the depressing restrictions that went with it and make this a great year for the Poppy Appeal - it is our 100th after all.

The Poppy Appeal this year runs from Friday 29th October to Saturday 13th November, with Remembrance Sunday falling on the 14th November, when the Remembrance Day Service and parade will take place outside the Town Hall.

We all know it's a very worthwhile cause but have you ever thought of helping?

We are not asking for much, just a couple of hours of your time is all it takes. Go on give it a try!

If you can help in any way, or if you have any query please call David Howell, Poppy Appeal Organiser on 01446 774306.
