Our weekly property column features the most interesting homes currently on the market right now on our Cowbridge Nub News Property page.

This week's property is a 3-bedroom home in Broughton on the market for £200,000 with Harris & Birt.

Here's what they had to say about it:

Dating back to the 19th Century The Malthouse in its entirety was owned by a brewer and the building was used to store and supply malt.

After the Hancocks bought the building in the early 1900's and sold it on to the Quaker movement, the Malthouse was then taken over during World War Two and used as a holiday home for child evacuees.

When the war ended the MOD handed the building back to the Quaker movement who sold it to Westgate Homes in the 1960s, at which point it was converted into the block of residential apartments that you see today.

8 The Malthouse is a spacious first floor flat enjoying a delightful wide ranging rural outlook, over the surrounding fields in this small hamlet close to the heritage coastline.

The accommodation retaining an abundance of character features and found in excellent condition provides; entrance hall, living room, dining room, kitchen, 3 good sized bedrooms and a bathroom set across one level and accessed via a communal hallway. This is also extremely adaptable and could be adjusted to meet individual requirements.

Broughton is a short distance down the road from the village of Wick which enjoys excellent facilities including; village shop, post office, parish church, 2 village pubs, junior school, village hall, village rugby club and village green.

The good local road network brings in major centres, incluidng Cowbridge, Llantwit Major, Bridgend and the capital city of Cardiff within easy commuting distance. Usefully there is a railway station in Llantwit Major on the Bridgend to Cardiff line.
