Repair Café Wales is holding a public meeting seeking volunteers to set up a Cowbridge branch.

There are currently 30 Repair Cafés in Wales, with the closest to Cowbridge operating in Llantwit Major for the last two years.

Now the organisation is holding a meeting at the Vale of Glamorgan pub11am on Saturday 28 November to see if there is enough interest to start a group in Cowbridge.

The meeting will be socially-distanced and attended by no more than 30 people.

Repair Café groups are run by volunteers who have the skills to fix household items, from electrics, furniture, textiles and IT products. The cafés help to reduce waste in the community.

"We'd be looking for any household object skills. Sewing, woodwork and metal work repairs, IT repairs, electrical repairs, bike repairs," said Bec Matheson, a volunteer for the Llantwit Major branch.

"You don't have to be a specialist in any areas, no specific qualifications, but if you're handy with a sewing machine, basic electrics or tools, then that would be great."
