There's just more than a week left for anyone considering filling a vacancy on Cowbridge Town Council to submit their interest.
The council currently has a vacancy which will be filled through the process of co-option after discussion at its next meeting, due to be held on Tuesday, 20 September.
Mayor Cllr John Andrew says all members of the community are welcome to apply, adding: "The council is committed to achieving a balanced composition of Councillors that reflects the community of Cowbridge with Llanblethian."
Co-opted councillors have the same rights and responsibilities as those councillors who obtain office through election. The successful candidate will be expected to attend the monthly meetings of the council and also to serve on committees which meet on a two monthly cycle.
Interested residents can submit their expressions of interest for the role by way of a letter outlining the following:
- You are at at least 18 years old.
- You are registered to vote in the area or have lived, worked or owned property there for at least 12 months before an election.
- the contribution you believe you could make to the work of the Council;
- the personal qualities that you would bring to the role;
- your availability for attending meetings.
Closing date for submission is Tuesday,30 August. Email town clerk Cathy Kennedy with your expression of interest on [email protected]
