Summer Fun for Bont Faen WI

After months of lockdown and Zoom meetings, the Bont Faen WI met up in person this summer at three lovely events.

Margaret Price led a group of intrepid WI walkers on a five-mile circular walk from Cowbridge to Llysworney with a picnic lunch near the duck pond in the village

On 15th July a summer picnic took place at a member's home and 18 ladies enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon in the warm sunshine.

Although croquet, boules and swimming were on offer, everyone was just happy to be together again and spent the time chatting and catching up after the long period apart.

Finally, on 26th August a Summer tea was held in the beautiful, large conservatory and impressive gardens of the Vale Hotel. 28 members attended and were served a delicious cream tea accompanied by a selection of violin music played by Mr Roger Stead.

As Summer draws to a close and with the Welsh alert level for Covid 19 at zero, Bont Faen WI will continue to meet in person in the Main Hall of the Town Hall.

The next meeting will be on Thursday 16th September at 7.45Pm when the speakers will be Blood Brothers who are bringing one of their motorbikes to the meeting.
