Three traders at Cowbridge Farmers' Market have been recognised in this year's Great Taste Awards.

Vale Cider, Bossa Nova Chocolate, and Daisy Graze were each given the seal of approval by a panel of expert judges.

Great Taste is the largest food and drink accreditation scheme, supporting large and small producers and giving buyers reliable recommendations for great tasting food.

Vale Cider, based in nearby Bonvilston, won for a fifth year in a row, for its Kingston Black single variety still, off dry cider joins our Serious Scrumpy, Medium Dry and Medium Sweet sparkling ciders.

Homemade preserves business Daisy Graze won for its rhubarb and vanilla jam.

"It means so much when you're a small business," said creator Janine Gray.

Brazilian chocolate retailer Bossa Nova Chocolate also won for its dairy-free/vegan pecan and dark chocolate Brazilian-style truffles.

The judges commented: "These impressive and well-presented looking truffles have a great contrast in texture between the velvet smooth ganache and the crunchy pecans.

"We enjoyed the depth of chocolate, the freshness of the nuts and the overall combination. Cleverly judged sweetness at just the right level too."

They each were awarded one star for their products – approximately 25% of entries achieve this each year.

Less than 10% earn two stars and 2% of entries are awarded the top ranking of three stars.

Vale Cider, Daisy Graze and Bossa Nova Chocolate each attend Cowbridge Farmers' Market , held on Saturdays from 9am-1pm at Arthur John's car park.

Daisy Graze and Vale Cider products can also be purchased through Cowbridge Food Collective, a weekly online market of local producers.
