Tim Vaughan Racing stables will be open to the public this Sunday, as part of National Racehorse Week.

The Pant Wilkin Stables in Aberthin have been home to Tim Vaughan Racing for the past decade.

We spoke with Tim about what visitors can expect on 12 September.

"The idea is to give the general public an insight to what goes on here, how horses are cared for, how they train and then what happens after racing," he told Nub News.

"Basically, we want to show the care and the passion that's put into these horses, whilst they're in training, then the care once they leave

"Everyone is invited, there will be teas and coffees. When people arrive, I'll give them a bit of a stable tour, show them the horses jumping over obstacles, and doing displays.

"It's nice to show the local community what we do on a day-to-day basis!"

The full schedule for the day is as follows:

  1. 00am – Arrival with complimentary tea/coffees & biscuits
  2. 30am – Welcome Introduction & facilities Tour
  3. 00am – Horses on the Gallops display
  4. 00am – Horses schooling over hurdles / fences display
  5. 00am – Retired Racehorses display in the arena with commentary to include Former Scottish Grand National Winner & This year's Champion RoR
  6. 30am – Back to yard – to answer any further queries / questions
  7. 00 noon – End (if we do not overrun).

Throughout the morning, their veterinary practice will also be on site to answer any queries from the public.
