Top five Cowbridge attractions according to Tripadvisor

By Ellyn Wright 29th Apr 2021

With restrictions easing soon, hospitality venues and attractions around Cowbridge are about to reopen.

Looking for something to do in our town? Here's the top five attractions in Cowbridge according to Tripadvisor reviews.

Taskforce Paintball Games

Located in Penllyn, one reviewer said Taskforce Paintball "took paintball to another level".

Suitable for groups and parties, activities include paintballing, laser tag, and teambuilding command tasks.

Though not for everyone, if you love the outdoors and fancy the thrill, you'll find something for you at Taskforce.

The Physic Garden

From thrills to tranquilty – next on the list is the beautiful Physic Garden.

Loved by locals and visitors alike, it's the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the well-kept wildlife.

The plants have been carefully curated to incorporate the formal, the functional (not only medicinal, but also culinary, perfumery, cosmetics and dyestuffs) and the aesthetic.

Beaupre Castle

"It is a beautiful ruin, there is so much life in this building and so much to explore," wrote one reviewer.

More of a manor house than a castle, it was built in two stages, the older part was constructed around 1300 while a major renovation in the 16th century by the Bassett family produced the impressive remaining features.

Atmospheric and somewhat isolated, it's well worth a visit.

St Quentin's Castle

A gem of an attraction set in Llanblethian that's free to visit, St Quentin's was most likely built by English nobleman and military commander Gilbert de Clare in the early 14th century.

The most notable remaining features are its huge, twin-towered gatehouse and high stretch of curtain wall on the north of the site.

Happy Days Vintage Homestore

Tucked away just off the high street lies Happy Days, a treasure trove of vintage wonders.

Quirky and fun, it's the perfect spot to browse and discover unusual items and grab a bite at the café – where you might run into Anthony Hopkins if you're lucky…
