Restoration of the Old Hall façade on Cowbridge High Street began its prep work today as trees and bushes were removed from the site.

The footpath was closed for work to start at 08:00 this morning but has since reopened.

Matt Jones, 46, a structural engineer and managing director of Vale Consultancy, who are working on the revamp alongside the Cowbridge Charter Trust and the Vale of Glamorgan council, said: "It's the only time in the project where the footpath will be closed throughout the project and work is scheduled to be completed by Easter weekend."

The revamp project will begin on February 21 and will finish in time for the Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival on April 17 and 18.
