Cowbridge's volunteer litter picking group filled six bags of rubbish on its monthly meet yesterday morning.

Headed by Julia Evans, the group meets on the first Sunday of every month at 10am behind the town hall.

Yesterday Julia was joined by Dani Howells, Anne Birt, Roger Barwick and Cllr Andrew Pritchard.

The group collected litter from around the main car park, North Road, Bear Field and the leisure centre, High Street and Twt Park.

Volunteers bring their own gloves, with the rest of the equipment provided.

"I found it a good place to interact with the volunteer group and meet new people," said Cllr Pritchard.

"I would like to say thanks on behalf of Cowbridge & Llanblethian Town Council for all the good work you do on our behalf."

The group has been running for approximately eight years and welcomes new volunteers. They meet at 9.55am behind the Town Hall for an hour of litter-picking.
