Weather warnings have been issued for Cowbridge and the Vale of Glamorgan by the Met Office and Natural Resources Wales.

Heavy rain could cause disruption due to localised flooding later on Monday into Tuesday.

The Met Office have issued warnings. They state that:

• Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely

• Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer

  • Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer.

''An area of heavy rain is expected to move northeast during Monday afternoon and evening before clearing these areas from the west later in the day.

''15-30 mm of rain is expected to fall quite widely, then bulk of this in 6 hours, with 40 mm or so across some of the higher ground of south Wales.

''With the ground having been left wet by heavy rain over the weekend, some flooding is likely.''

Natural Resources Wales said: ''Coastal/tidal flooding is possible for many parts of the English and Welsh coastline from today until Wednesday. This is due to high tides and strong winds at times.

''Local river and surface water flooding is likely to continue across mainly northern and central parts of England and also Wales today (Sunday) until Tuesday, due to further heavy rain and showers.

''Land, roads and some properties may flood and there may be travel disruption.''
