Here's what's coming up

Saturday (10:30 – 15:30): Jewellery Designing and Making for Beginners & Improvers

This one-day course focuses on using cord and chain in imaginative ways. Designing jewellery using a cord does not have to be tribal or hippy in style (although it can be) but can be delicate and pretty too.

A chain can be simple and fine and all sorts of shapes and sizes right through to decidedly chunky and funky. Through learning a variety of techniques, you will make a necklace and bracelet that you will love to wear.

You will make jewellery that is unique and reflects your personality and be able to make some gifts to boot. This isn't a course where everyone makes the same thing, but one that allows you to be a bit more creative and make jewellery that you love.

Kate Montefiore started her artistic career as a student at St Martin's School of Art in London, and has experience in theatre and costume design, textile design, printmaking, felt making and jewellery. She is passionate that there is creativity in all of us.

What does the learner need to bring to the course?

Kate supplies a huge range of trinkets, charms, beads, and buttons for you to rifle through, so you don't need to bring anything, but if there is anything you would like to use (such as a necklace you are not keen on, but you like the beads, for instance), just bring it along and Kate will help you re-design it.

Note you will pay £30 when enrolling and £5 on the day directly to the tutor.

Call Vale Courses on 01446 773831 to book your place.

Saturday morning (09:00 – 13:00): Cowbridge Farmers' Market

Every Saturday morning at the Arthur John Car Park, you can shop fresh, locally sourced produce at Cowbridge Farmers' Market. A fixture of Cowbridge for more than 20 years, the market is brimming with treats and organic food. Take a look at the full list of producers here and see what takes your fancy.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday (10:00 – 16:00): David March exhibition at the Old Hall, Cowbridge

David March is a local artist who paints landscapes, seascape and floral art in acrylic and oil on canvas. His exhibition shows a vast array of Welsh landmarks and his passion for horticulture.

A talented artist not to be missed! Despite the front of the Old Hall building being renovated, the gallery remains open.

This is a free exhibition and everyone is welcome.
