Long queues are continuing this morning at petrol stations around Cowbridge, after panic buying in fear of fuel shortages began on Friday [24 September].
Esso Downs filling station ran out of fuel on Saturday, a worker told Nub News, despite introducing a £30 limit the day before.
Staff there were unable to say when the next delivery of supplies would be.
"Friday and Saturday were very busy, with long queues," said one worker.
"We had to have an extra till open on Friday, when we usually have one.
"It's also annoying that we're down a pump so the queues were bigger because of that."
At Tudor Garage, in Ystradowen, drivers were queuing approximately 200m to fill up their tanks.
"It's absolutely manic," said a worker there.
"We will run out of fuel today, and the next delivery is coming on Wednesday.
"We've sold 15 times our usual amount on Friday and 13 times the usual amount on Saturday.
"There's no shortage or issue, it's just that everyone has been told not to panic and now they're panicking."
There are also long queues at Tesco Culverhouse Cross, although staff there were confident they had enough fuel to meet the demand.
The government announced it would suspend competition law to allow oil firms to target fuel deliveries at petrol stations that need them.
Officials said the move would make it easier for companies to share information and prioritise parts of the country where demand is highest.
