A blood donation clinic to be set up at Cowbridge Leisure Centre by the Welsh Blood Service on April 8 is hoping to attract new donors.

People between the ages of 17 and 66 and weighing more than 7st, 12lbs with a healthy medical history can become a blood donor.

The Welsh Blood Service needs to collect over 350 blood donations every day to supply to hospitals across Wales.

Lewis Rees, donor engagement coordinator at the Welsh Blood Service, told Nub News: "We would really like to get some new donors to donate – we always get the regular donors but we have to wait between 12 and 16 weeks where we can't take blood off people who have already donated.

"Of course, we welcome everyone to come along but particularly people who have never donated before."

Clinic opening times are 10:00 - 12:30 & 14:00 - 17:00.
